Happy Sunday everyone! What a busy weekend we had. Yesterday I had my monthly card class and we had such a great turn out. These ladies are truly the reason I love what I do. This was a big class. In November and December, I like to change the class up a little bit and offer some different things. For this month we had 3 cards AND 3 Treat projects. I managed to get most of the die-cutting done before hand and only left a couple of things for them to do in class, but pulling the little evergreen pieces out of the dies was proving to be a complete time drain. So my daughter pitched in and helped me die cut all of the evergreens for everyone while they were busy working on their cards. Here are the treat projects we made…the cards with videos will be coming soon :o)
Project 1 is a little “Mint Book” which was so easy to make. We took a piece of Cajun Craze cut at 2 x 5, stamped the crackle image from the October Paper Pumpkin kit with VersaMark Ink and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. After we embossed it, we scored it at 1/2″, 2-3/4″, and 3″ folded all the score lines, put a Life Savers Wintergreen mint on the inside and stapled the bottom flap with the Mini Stapler. The greeting (sneak peak) was stamped in Crushed Curry and punched out with the large oval punch. We then punched out the Mixed Bunch flowers with Crushed Curry Cardstock and attached it all to the front. So quick and easy to make a bunch.
The cute little turkey holder is just too cute. He is not my original idea and I adapted many different punch art turkeys to come up with this little guy. You need of course the Owl Builder punch and the single leaf image from the May Flowers Thinlits. The feathers were die cut in Real Red, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry; the eyes are whisper white (draw on the eyes with a ball point pen), the beak and feet are Pumpkin Pie and the wattle is Real Red. The treat container was created with a 9-3/4 x 2″ piece of Presents and Pinecones DSP which was scored at 4-3/4 and 5. I put a Crystal Light “on the go” packet inside to put on the Thanksgiving table since my kids are not fans of drinking plain water, but you could easily replace this with a little bag of candy and just increase the score marks to make a larger base. The sentiment was stamped in Delightful Dijon on Whisper White and then flagged the ends with the Triple Banner punch.
The Give Thanks Popcorn box is so pretty in person. We diecut the box in Very Vanilla and then embossed the Vintage Leaves in Gold. Using the coordinating Leaflet Dies we cut out leaves in Cherry Cobbler, Delightful Dijon, and Cajun Craze and attached to the box with dimensionals. The banner was cut with Very Vanilla from the Bunch of Banners dies and unfortunately the sentiment which is in Cajun Craze was from a retired set from last year’s holiday catalog. I just needed a small Thanksgiving themed sentiment and I just couldn’t find anything in my stash that would work that was current.
